Why did you choose to work at DLA Piper?

In 2022, I completed an internship in the Finance group. During my internship, I was impressed by the strong sense of community and the inclusive culture.

Despite my initial shyness, the welcoming atmosphere made me feel valued and part of the team from day one. The firm encouraged me to develop my legal knowledge and skills in a practical setting and under the expertise of more senior team members. The hands-on experience I gained was invaluable, as I was able to work on real cases and receive constructive feedback. The firm provided me with numerous opportunities to grow, both professionally and personally, and the mentorship and guidance I received was exceptional.

My internship at DLA Piper was an enjoyable and transformative experience, which led me to returning here to work after my graduation.

What have you learned from your experiences at DLA Piper?

I've learned the importance of resilience and having a growth mindset.

As a graduate in a fast-paced law firm, I regularly encountered new and challenging situations which my studies had not prepared me for. At times, these situations made me feel frustrated and inadequate. Over time, I've learned to keep an open mind, learn from my mistakes and be receptive to feedback and advice. I find that this growth mindset helps tremendously in unfamiliar and/or challenging situations.

I am grateful to DLA Piper for providing exceptional mentorship and support in the beginning of my legal career which has allowed me to adopt this positive mindset.

What pro bono activities have you been involved in?

I've been involved in several pro bono matters, including conducting research and providing updates on the status of same-sex marriage under Thai law. Additionally, I advised the UNHCR on the legal framework governing the expulsion of refugees under Thai law.

I also had the opportunity to teach a practical legal skills course at Chiang Mai University, where I shared my knowledge and experience with law students, helping them develop essential skills for their future careers.

My pro bono experience has broadened my understanding of societal issues and increased my legal knowledge on issues not often encountered in my regular practice.
