Why did you choose to work at DLA Piper?

Full disclosure, but you can probably guess, I'm not originally from Ireland. I am from Germany and I've moved to a lot of different countries throughout my life. I eventually moved to Dublin in 2020. Given my background, I was always keen on working in an international environment, surrounded by different cultures, identities and backgrounds.

When I then saw that DLA Piper Ireland was hiring for their first training programme, I wanted to be part of the journey. At the time, I knew DLA Piper as a global law firm, being involved in major projects around the world. I knew that I wanted to be part of a global community that offers an environment in which you're able to thrive and that allows for individual growth. 

How would you describe the culture at DLA Piper?

Truly fantastic! I've had the opportunity to work on multiple international projects and each and every time I am surrounded by colleagues who have the same mentality and represent the same values as me. But in particular, I wanted to mention the environment in the Dublin office. Everyone in the office is welcoming and supportive. It is a unique environment in which one can thrive and learn. Everyone, across all teams, is collaborative and collegial. It is a young office and a lot of people have come from different backgrounds and firms and yet we all align and stand for the DLA Piper values, supporting each other where we can. I have not experienced a better work environment.
