Why did you choose to work at DLA Piper?

When I was a student, I always wanted to work for a prestigious law firm. DLA Piper was a familiar law firm, as some DLA Piper lawyers taught in my law school. This inspired me to apply to the firm,  and when the opportunity to work at DLA Piper arose, I didn’t hesitate in accepting it. Although I was fortunate enough to have other offers, DLA Piper was the most attractive for several reasons including its international presence, its reputation in the Spanish market and the exciting opportunities for career growth. I then met the team, and my decision was made! DLA Piper’s culture stood out to me, particularly the kindness of the people I met.

Having now worked at DLA Piper for several years, I made the right decision. 

What have you learned from your experiences at DLA Piper?

It is difficult to choose just one thing.

However, during my career I’ve learned that being a great lawyer requires you to be passionate about your job. It’s important that you love what you do and the environment you work in. I also think it’s important to choose a practice area you really like, as this will motivate you to develop in your career. 

I’ve also learned that doing a good job goes beyond the quality of your work. You need to understand the client needs and ensure that your work is tailored accordingly.
