Why did you choose to work at DLA Piper?

DLA Piper’s reputation, global reach and diverse practice areas are the main factors that inspired me to apply to DLA Piper. Working in the Dubai office provides me with opportunities to engage with complex legal issues at a relatively early stage in my career, whilst having the opportunity to learn, grow and develop. Overall, I chose to work at DLA Piper for the range of professionals I would be working alongside, the career growth opportunities, and the stimulating and rewarding work. 

Is there anything you would like to highlight about your experiences at DLA Piper?

I joined DLA Piper as an intern after graduating from university with limited legal work experience.

Despite my lack of experience, my colleagues consistently offered unwavering support and invested time in my development. DLA Piper’s commitment to mentorship, trust, and confidence-building accelerated my growth exponentially. Upon completing my six-month internship, I moved into a permanent paralegal role. This experience demonstrates the firm’s dedication to career development and nurturing talent within a supportive and empowering environment. 

Do you have any advice for students aspiring to pursue a career in law?

For aspiring law students, internship experiences early on in your education compliment what you are studying in the classroom. Leverage and seek mentors who can offer guidance and insight, and don’t underestimate the value of networking. Develop strong communication and analytical skills and stay up to date with current events and legal trends in the market. Be adaptable and embrace continuous learning throughout your journey.
